Harwich Harbour Foot and Bicycle Ferry on the Haven operates a daily timetable (weather permitting) between Landguard Felixstowe, the heritage port town of Harwich in Essex and Shotley on the River Stour in Suffolk. All three peninsula have a wealth of museums, history and superb nature reserves and countryside to enjoy. There’s no better way to really understand all that the Haven is – and was – or to really get a sense of scale than taking to the water and seeing the Haven from all sides.
Getting to Haven Walk Start Points – It’s Easier Than You Think
Travel on the train – even with your bike – to Felixstowe in Suffolk, Harwich in Essex and towns and villages along the awesome River Orwell. The Haven is both conveniently on Greater Anglia rail routes and surprisingly off the beaten track. From both Harwich and Landguard Felixstowe, the Harwich Harbour Ferry makes the connection to the Shotley Peninsula which is also served by local bus routes.
