The View Point Café at Landguard is the ultimate place to sit and watch Felixstowe’s giant cargo ships and all sorts of boats go by, whilst relaxing over a drink, snack, lunch or all day breakfast. Enjoy stunning views of the Orwell estuary and the famous Port of Felixstowe loading cranes from indoor and outdoor seating areas.

The dog-friendly 60-seater View Point café is located in the easy-access visitor centre at the John Bradfield Viewing Area adjacent to the car park.

The View Point Café serves all day breakfasts, fish and chips, snacks, meals, homemade soup, cakes, hot and cold drinks and ices.

Food is cooked to order in the open kitchen and locally sourced wherever possible.

We are proud to include food from local-to-Suffolk suppliers in our meals and menus. 

Yes, there is a café takeaway service for hot and cold drinks, snacks, cakes and ices.

In the summer season, the View Point Kiosk opposite the café also has a wide range of takeaway snacks and drinks available.

Reusable cups for takeaway drinks is encouraged, so please bring yours with you if you can.

If you have takeaway food or beverages from the café, please ensure that you dispose of your litter responsibly  – thank you.

We are pleased to offer both a vegetarian and a vegan options in our meals, including our all-day breakfast range.

Cakes and snacks catering for special diets are subject to availabilty.

Yes, the View Point Café is dog-friendly. Dogs can be accommodated alongside tables in the visitor centre area of the café or outside on the terrace.

Water bowls for visiting dogs – or passing-by pooches! – are provided (outside the View Point building).

We have a dedicated menu for children (also available to customers with smaller appetites!) We also offer a wide range of child-friendly drinks.

Families with prams or buggies may find it more convenient to use tables in the visitor centre section of the facility. 

Yes – the building is accessible via a permanent extended ramp.

The interior of the visitor centre and café building is also designed to be welcoming to visitors with mobility issues.

The View Point building includes public toilets accessed from the visitor centre area of the café.

Landguard’s View Point Visitor Centre

The Café and Visitor Centre share the View Point  building which is also the location of Landguard Point’s public toilets.

Display boards, useful maps and videos share interesting insights into Landguard’s rich history and wide-ranging offer.

Ships & Chips (other food also available!)
