Flying Drones is Not Permitted
No Drone Zone
Drones stress and disrupt wildlife and pose safety risks. Flying drones is not permitted at Landguard Nature Reserve for the following reasons:
Wildlife Disturbance: Drones can disturb wildlife, particularly birds. The noise and presence of a drone can cause stress and disrupt natural behaviours such as feeding, nesting, and breeding.
Safety Risks: Drones pose safety risks to both wildlife and people. There is a chance of drones crashing and causing injury or damage.
Privacy Concerns: Drones infringe on the privacy of visitors.
Conservation Efforts: Nature reserves prioritise conservation and protecting natural habitats. Restricting drones helps maintain the serene environment and prevents any potential negative impact on the ecosystem.
Regulations: Many nature reserves have specific regulations to ensure the protection of their unique environments. Restricting drones is often part of these regulations to maintain the integrity of the reserve. Landguard Nature Reserve is covered by a Public Space Protection Order, that prohibits the use of drones on and over the Reserve
