How the 12.5-inch gun works

This animation is based on a 12.5 inch RML gun at Fort Nothe, Weymouth, which protected Portland Harbour. Seven of these guns equipped the fort and were the same model as those used at Landguard Fort. The video shows how the very large guns were loaded, aimed and fired from inside the cramped casemates using manpower alone.
