Cordoned-off Areas
Respect the Cordons
Please do not walk through the post and rope cordons. Access to these restricted areas is not permitted when the cordons are in place.
Post and rope cordons are used in bird nesting areas to create physical barriers that help protect nesting birds and their habitats from human disturbance and potential threats.
The purpose of the post and rope cordons are to:
Minimise Disturbance: They help keep people and pets at a distance, reducing the chances of disturbing nesting birds.
Prevent Accidental Harm: By keeping visitors away from sensitive areas, these cordons help prevent accidental trampling or damage to nests and eggs.
Control Access: They help manage foot traffic, ensuring that only authorised people can enter certain areas for monitoring or maintenance purposes.
Educate Visitors: These barriers also serve as a visual reminder to visitors about the importance of protecting wildlife and respecting their habitats.
For these reasons, walking through the cordons in not permitted and we encourage vistos to walk around the cordons and follow the requests displayed on signs which explain why the cordons are in place and using green arrows, highlight the passing places.
